Quedlinburg Westendorf was first mentioned in a document in 964. It comprises the district around the Stiftsberg and was under the direct control of the abbess until it was incorporated in 1810. The municipal office stood on the corner of the "Gildschaft" until 1976. There were separate jurors for the 233 houses and their inhabitants.

The holiday home "Heinrich" is the right part of a semi-detached house from the 17th century. In the street "Gildschaft", where this house was built around 1680, was the guild, an association of the

After the previous owners had begun a refurbishment, the current owners took over the shell of the building and completed the refurbishment with healthy living in mind.

Unfortunately, the black kitchen in the centre of the house could not be preserved due to the lack of foundations and considerable structural damage.

There is a legend that the German royal crown was offered to Henry, Duke of Saxony, in the immediate vicinity, at the Finkenherd. Even if this is rather unlikely, Quedlinburg was first mentioned in a document by Henry in 922 and was visited by him several times. He also chose it as his burial place. The close link between the town's history and the foundations laid by Henry I is reflected in the name of the holiday home.

The aim of the planning by the architectural firm QuArK was to preserve as much of the old building fabric as possible. As far as possible, historical building materials were salvaged and reused during excavation work. For example, baroque floor tiles, historic window panes and loam mouldings in the ceilings and loam infill in the walls were reused in many places. The historic interior doors are refurbished original doors or come from the Quedlinburg building archive.

Unfortunately, the black kitchen in the centre of the house could not be preserved due to the lack of foundations and considerable structural damage.

Where the historical substance was destroyed, the existing structure was supplemented by inserting new elements that are clearly recognisable as such.

During the refurbishment, great importance was attached to the use of healthy building materials. These are often historically proven and lead to a pleasant living climate. These include clay and wood in particular. The new interior walls were made of clay bricks. The interior insulation of the outer skin was carried out using mineral light clay.

The buildings in which the holiday flats are located are centrally situated in the historic town centre of Quedlinburg. They have been refurbished with great attention to detail in accordance with heritage conservation and healthy living standards.
Materials that generate an electrostatic charge were avoided and radiant heaters were installed. This leads to less air pollution from dust particles and a greater sense of well-being for the residents. Many guests have already reported that allergy sufferers were able to breathe freely and were free of irritation.
We use fragrance-free detergents.
Bed linen for allergy sufferers can be provided on request.
