Five outstanding female artists – each with their own distinct style – are featured in the special exhibition at the Lyonel Feiniger Museum which can be seen until 11 January 2027.
Some of the female artists engage in a dialogue in pairs. The sensual imagery of Grita Götze’s ceramics contrasts with Kerstin Grimm’s mystical depictions of women. Kat Menschnik’s powerful illustrations complement Luise Neupert-Keil’s provocative paper cut-outs. One room displays Tanja Pohl’s oil paintings, which at first glance radiate harmony but then reveal sombre scenes. What all these women have in common is a strong sense of agency and East German origins.
The works in the exhibition are all by women and thus present a female perspective on depictions of women through various forms of artistic expression. In this way, the artists’ perspectives and the subjects of their depictions enter into a dialogue. Images of women created by women.

Admission to the special exhibition also entitles visitors to view the newly curated permanent exhibition of works by Bauhaus master Lyonel Feiniger. The Lyonel Feiniger Museum is a cultural highlight in this World Heritage city Quedlinburg.
The exhibition is open from Wednesday to Monday until 11 January 2027 at the Lyonel Feininger Museum on display at the Schlossberg.
