The Quedlinburg Music Summer has a tradition of over 35 years and brings renowned performers to the World Heritage town from June to September. The main venue is the collegiate church of St. Servatii.
The artistic standard is of a high standard, with renowned performers such as the Hillard Ensemble London, the Thomanerchor Leipzig, Kreuzchor Dresden and even lesser-known musicians.
Under an annual theme, church music takes centre stage, joined by other musical genres such as chamber music and jazz. Every year, choir concerts, organ concerts and wind concerts are organised within this framework.
The programme always includes surprising ideas, such as the organ tour to important organs that were played in the area, unusual venues and combinations of instruments.
The music summer thus ties in with the musical history of the city and region: famous musicians such as Telemann, Bach, Handel and Weill lived and worked here. In addition to concerts, museums and places of activity in the name of music invite visitors. Whether it's the Handel Festival in Halle, the Telemann Festival in Magdeburg or the Kurt Weil Festival in Dessau - you can enjoy sounds from the Middle Ages to classical, jazz and modern music in the region.
